We asked a cop why people were being arrested for nothing he said “If we could arrest all of you we might"
Officer:” … more fires in the street. Looting and burning.”
Person 1: [offscreen] “ You arrested my brother who did nothing!”
Person 2: [offscreen, voice overlaps] “ He was pulled off of the sidewalk!”
Officer: “ I’m not gonna- I’m not gonna-tonight I’m not-but you’re brother spent hours marching in the street, and we have that on film-”
Person 1: “ And we do too.”
Person 2: “ And he got arrested for what?”
Person 1: “We’re not allowed to do that?”
Officer: [interjecting] “ And that is unlawful, and if we could arrest all of you, we might.”
so your right to peaceful protest is revoked if you’re black…
