Why do those male “positivity posts” pretend it’s so easy being a female survivor of abuse??
“If this was an old man making lewd comments about a young woman instead of vice versa we’d all know how inappropriate this is”
“If this was a man raping a woman instead of vice versa nobody would be making fun of her”
“If this was a woman being abused nobody would say that she was weak”
Like have any of you ever seen the Real World? Female survivors are treated like SHIT. Why would you pretend that abused women live in some sort of magical world where they are supported by wider society, they are always believed, and their abuser is always brought to justice.
Posts like those don’t exist to help male survivors of abuse, they exist to trick women into thinking that they somehow have it better, even when they have been abused.
it’s frustrating because you see examples of female victims treated like shit everyday, and then men come along and act like they can pull a reversal without providing any evidence.
