What do you think when men say “if you want act like a man I’ll treat you like a man“ in regards to psychical altercations between men and women?

one” it is really “I’ll hurt you until you conform to your gender role”
It is a dominance display. They do this knowing full well a woman can’t respond in turn. The threat can’t be reversed, a woman can’t get angry at a man and tell him she’ll beat him if he doesn’t act the way she wants.
Can you imagine a woman saying to a man “if you want to act like a woman I’ll treat you like a woman“?
What would that even imply?
It implies that equality can only be on hostile terms.
