thank you so much to everyone sharing this and donating! it means so much to me that you all want to help. please continue to share to help me gain my independence!
We really have harmed a whole generation of trans and gnc children by failing to communicate how serious a decision binding actually is, how there’s no ACTUALLY safe way to bind, how it permeneantly damages the body, how it can make top surgery more difficult in the future. I don’t think we should be keeping trans kids from binding (we let kids do all sorts of things they’re really not old enough to understand the potential consequences of) but we owe them the ability to make informed decisions at LEAST
@slavz the fuck are you doing this is a transphobic take. my own trans specialist told me its not unsafe, it might just stretch out the skin and make it more difficult to perform surgery on, which is why you shouldnt bind all the time but theres zero harm if you rest enough between wears
Your specialist is dangerously misinformed and you should let them know so that they don’t risk the health of other trans people. There are nonbinary and trans men on this site who will talk to you about the dangers of binding – here is glumshoe’s post about it. They suffered reduced lung capacity, a slipped rib, and nerve damage from binding, and even six months after they stopped binding, they haven’t fully recovered.
Please don’t downplay the damage binding can do just because it’s inconvenient to think about! I understand that binding can be an effective stopgap measure for treating dysphoria, but the fact is that compressing your entire ribcage for hours, day after day, has the potential for serious consequences, even if you bind “responsibly.”
Just don’t forget that yes there’s risks even when binding responsibly, but it’s a lot less risky to bind when you’re doing it safely than it is when you’re not being safe. I can’t tell you how much worse feeling it is when I sleep in a binder compared to when I bind for only 8 hours. I personally haven’t had any bad reactions to binding other than some sharp pains and back aches but it’s still good to be cautious.
Those back aches are the binder compressing your spinal nerves and torquing your back, and those chest pains are ribs being contorted out of position.
You should probably get that shit checked.
No way man lmao if I go to a doctor they’ll tell me to stop binding
Which would be medically appropriate, given the symptoms you just described.
Look, you have one of two options: your symptoms tell me your binder has already done damage.
You can address your hangups and work with your doctor — even if it’s not what you want — in order to forestall future health problems or;
You can ignore your symptoms — which is what you’re doing — until they become a crisis.
Either way, you will have to stop binding… either now, while you still have your health, or later, when you don’t.
If you’re mature enough to transition, you’re mature enough to confront the health issues head on.
“Other than some sharp pains”. @c-the-truscum That’s not good. At all. That’s not something to wave off as unimportant. If your subculture is encouraging you to do something you know your doctor would tell you to stop doing you may want to stop and have a think about what’s actually good for you here.
My subculture isn’t encouraging me to do shit. I tell them my ribs hurt, they say I need to bind less. I bind less, my ribs hurt less. But that doesn’t mean I need a doctor to tell me that I need to stop binding because binding is mentally good for me. Binding takes away this disgusting constant “this shouldn’t be here” thought and I can feel free and happy. And that’s my game plan until I get top surgery.
I’ve been binding for 3 years, I know what I’m doing.
You’re in pain, you know a doctor would tell you to stop, and is it even mentally good for you? It doesn’t address the root of your hated for your own body. Neither will surgery. All it does is cover up the problem while worsening your health. It’s self-harm.
Binding isn’t self harm. Binding unsafely to inflict harm on yourself isn’t self harm. And yes transitioning will absolutely help me out. Do I need to show you the proof that top surgery and bottom surgery and testosterone are good for trans men? Cause I just started testosterone yesterday and I’m already starting to feel better. And yes binding is mentally good for me because I feel much better when I do it. And if you compare it to cutting or some shit I’m sorry but you’re a moron. It’s a short term plan to substitute for the long term plan of top surgery. That’s all.
There is no such thing as “safe binding”. You already know this because you’re experiencing pain and side effects despite saying you know what you’re doing.
You’re looking a higher blood pressure, increased risk of heart disease, increased risk of liver disease, loss of feeling in extremities among many other health risks.
Did you know that if you artificially induce excess testosterone in your body you’ll have to have a hysterectomy within about 5 years or else your uterus will become necrotic? A doctor may have been able to tell you that.
And for what? Because you hate your body? Because you know men are treated better in society?
Everything has health risks. I’m fully aware of the affects that testosterone has thanks lmao. Also no I’m doing this to treat my mental illness in the only way science knows how. I am a boy who was born as a girl and I’m doing what I can to fix that and frankly I don’t think it’s any of your business lmao
Except it isn’t “the only way science knows how”. It’s a mental illness. Why are you unnecessarily altering your body to the detriment of your own health for a mental illness?
Do doctors help anorexics starve themselves? Do they amputate the limbs of people suffering from somatoparaphrenia?
Something is very wrong with the attitude toward people feeling body dysmorphia about their sex or sex characteristics. Talk to other dysphoric women. Talk to detransitioned women. The approach of “treating” this mental illness by enabling the symptoms with damaging drugs and surgery is unethical and regressive. This stuff won’t make you male, because that’s impossible, it will just make you reliant on medical care for the rest of your life.
You don’t need fixing, society’s attitude toward the sexes does.

I thought this was gonna be a cute comic where he gets everything he wants but the binder is like a school binder for papers and it woulda ended like “ohohoho, back at it again with the shenanigans santa”
But then it was just this
Santa did her a favour
Binding crushes the breasts and rib cage
Prolonged use causes the breast tissue to degenerate

If you haven’t already, I recommend waiting a bit to engage in discourse until you feel you are ready! TRAs use a lot of manipulation tactics, and someone like me who is very sensitive to that sort of thing, it was a bit hard for me to detect this and realize that no, my information and logic wasn’t wrong – they just use things like gaslighting, emotional manipulation, sealioning, and false information to turn the argument in their favor. When I did start engaging, I was assured by another radfem that it’s ok to tag one of us and ask for help! It’s also okay to message one of us and ask for help! People send me posts all the time for either my insight, to rant about, or for my aid in an argument. We are a community, and we have each other’s backs here – we are stronger as one!
I also want to say that it is 100% okay to block blogs who are overwhelming you or using misogynistic names or just making you feel uncomfortable or manipulated. It doesn’t admit defeat or any nonsense like that! Your emotional well being and personal safety is more important than “finishing an argument” – there will always be another argument to engage in and another pissed off TRA, and trust me, you don’t have to take them all on.
It’s also perfectly fine to question and think critically about the radfem community and some of the behaviors that seem to be more common place. I’m not sure your specific alignments, but you don’t have to agree with a radfem just because she is a radfem. I know I’ve had my share of disagreements, and it’s important to know that just because you disagree with someone, doesn’t mean you wish death upon them or hate them!
Personally, I really like messing around with HTML codes when I have time, so feel free to pick a pretty theme and decorate it! Same goes for your mobile viewing. There is no right or wrong way to start a blog, especially a radfem one! Good luck! Message me when you set it up, I’d love to give a follow! 💜💜
Im HONORED

not a new hot take but i rlly hate how women are held to much higher standards than men in leftist communities. a woman says one wrong thing one time and she’s an awful horrible republican cunt bitch but men can do anything they want nd as long as they’re like “im a feminist” everyone fawns over them like omg woke queen this is how u ally 🙌🙌🙏👏👏😩😩
This double standard is applied to women’s writing.
Women’s writing is held to higher standard than men’s writing and male writers are not judged by things they did the way female writers are.
Women’s work has an expiration date (30 years or less) while men’s work can be considered relevant even if it ancient.
Anything that women do is also subjected to generalisation, but only the bad stuff… If a woman makes a mistake or is simply a bad person then all women are incapable of doing that thing or are bad ppl. But men never are. They’re seen as individuals or they’re actions are seen as the actions of individuals… Even when over 90% of men do the same thing, we still hear not all men

RadFem culture is explaining that “radical” as it’s used in academia means “at the root.” Then explaining if you haven’t been blocked yet that when you use the word “liberal” it is not used as adjective meaning “open to new behavior or opinions and willing to discard traditional values,” but the political meaning of “favoring maximum individual liberty in political and social reform.” The conflict radfems have with liberals and neoliberals is a fundamental conflict that should be shared byanyone who claims to be a communist or socialist or some related subgroup. That is focus on the good of the individual instead of the class. Leftist thought prior to the infestation of post modernism was always predicated upon class analysis.
It has nothing with willingness to dismiss outdated ideas. Ideas like the concept of gender.
This literally reads like you had an assignment that required you to use all the vocabulary words from one chapter of your gender theory/woman studies book that was written by the professor who’s pretending to teach ‘groundbreaking’ sociological concepts, but you read the assignment as having to be in 500 characters as opposed to 500 words.
I don’t think you know how to use quotation marks either ironically or correctly, judging from your use of them here.
What is it with you and quotation marks?
Considering you support transgenderism I am not sure why you are mocking gender studies
You look like you majored in advanced queer theory
