There’s an actual, real, OFFICIAL radfem political party in Spain, as in they’re prostitution abolitionist and they retweet from people who are gender critical constantly and their leader got hate on Twitter over some article she wrote about trans activism (I don’t know what the article said because I couldn’t find it but I know trans activists were mad about it)

…. I honestly CAN’T believe this????

RadFem culture is explaining that “radical” as it’s used in academia means “at the root.” Then explaining if you haven’t been blocked yet that when you use the word “liberal” it is not used as adjective meaning “open to new behavior or opinions and willing to discard traditional values,” but the political meaning of “favoring maximum individual liberty in political and social reform.” The conflict radfems have with liberals and neoliberals is a fundamental conflict that should be shared byanyone who claims to be a communist or socialist or some related subgroup. That is focus on the good of the individual instead of the class. Leftist thought prior to the infestation of post modernism was always predicated upon class analysis.

It has nothing with willingness to dismiss outdated ideas. Ideas like the concept of gender.

hey terfs

as a trans guy Born as A Female Wombyn Natural Born Walking Vagina Uwu id like to go on record to say that the people who advocate for the use of “people with vaginas” over “female” or “women”

are

people like me

not trans women

it’s me and other non-women with Natural Wombyn Vaginas who have vaginas and aren’t women

it’s us

we’re the ones who don’t want to be called women when discussing the genitals we have

me! and people like me!

you can stop scapegoating trans women about this now you complete damn buffoons now stop being disgusting

i hear this post is proving to be extremely controversial in the terf fandom

Also consider the following: there are vagina haver’s that need to do vagina health related things, and ALSO have testies, who must attend to testicular health. You know, intersex people. People that are intersex, right out of the factory. People who don’t need “fixing” because they’re fine and implying they must have their genitals mutilated for terf approval is ableist and gross.

They also would like to have the common decency to not be mislabeled.

For all that you flap your trap about Intersex people, you’d do well to remember that they, as a community, have repeated asked that the trans community stop using their serious medical illnesses as rhetorical arguments.

Have the common decency to repeat their wishes before you lecture anyone else.

I’m intersex my pal

Also I’m gonna take a sec to say a significant amount of intersex people are also trans/nonbinary/genderqueer. As just an example, pcos, a hormonal intersex phenotype, is seen in like a quarter to half of trans guys studied, depending on their sample — that’s a LOT, and on top of it, it’s just a single intersex condition, just looking at a fraction of one trans population, men seeking T. There’s even more nb people with pcos, and even more intersex conditions found in the trans community. So yeah, intersex health issues and trans health issues are intertwined, and people should talk about it, talk about how T and E effact intersex people, how a lot of trans people with pcos don’t even know they’re not alone or that they need to watch their insulin levels, and make sure their cysts — which can even develop on T — don’t rupture or twist their organ, and be aware of their options if they’re being coerced into unwanted sterilization.

I have PCOS so that means I am intersex now

Well as an ‘intersex’ person shut the fuck up

10-year-old girl bleeds to death after female genital mutilation in Somalia

A 10-year-old girl has died after undergoing female genital mutilation in Somalia, the first confirmed death in years in a country where complications from the procedure are generally denied, activists claim.

Deeqa Dahir Nuur was taken on 14 July to a traditional cutter in the her village of Olol, roughly 65km from Dhusmareb, in central Galmudug state. The operation severed a vein, and when the family were still unable to stem the haemorrhaging two days later, the girl was taken to Dhusmareb hospital, where she bled to death, said activist Hawa Aden Mohamed of the Galkayo Education Centre for Peace and Development.

The Galmudug state minister for women’s affairs visited the family in hospital to offer condolences and explain the risk of death in FGM operations. But action over Deeqa’s is unlikely. “The woman who performed the operation has not been arrested, but even if she was, there is no law that would ensure she is punished for the act,” said Mohamed.

“It is difficult to estimate the number of girls who die due to FGM per month or per day because they are [sworn] to secrecy, particularly in rural areas. We only get to hear of the few cases of those bold enough to seek medical treatment in towns. But from the stories we do hear, they could be in their dozens.”

The death is the most high profile confirmed in Somalia, where 98% of women and girls are cut, the highest percentage anywhere in the world. Activists hope the publicity surrounding her death may help debunk myths in Somalia that FGM is safe.

“It is really important that this is a confirmed case, as pro-FGM lobbyists sometimes put forward the nonsensical view that it is not harmful,” said Brendan Wynne, of Donor Direct Action, an international women’s organisation which runs a fund for frontline FGM activists. “This is completely untrue. It often has lifelong medical and psychological consequences – and, as we have seen, [can lead to] death. We have no more time for any debate on the harms of FGM and this case, like many others, proves that.”

FGM in Somalia is constitutionally illegal, but pressure from conservative and religious groups prevents lawmakers from passing legislation to punish offenders.

The vast majority of girls in Somalia undergo FGM between the ages of five and nine, according to Unicef. Nearly two-thirds endure infibulation, the most severe form of the procedure. This involves narrowing the vaginal opening by creating a seal, formed by cutting and repositioning the labia. A small hole is left through which the girl can pass urine or menstrual blood. Globally, the most severe form of FGM is thought to affect some 130 million women and girls, most of whom are cut by untrained midwives or healers using tools ranging from knives and razors to broken glass and sharpened sticks.

Campaigners in Somalia use education programmes to teach families about the consequences of FGM and their options to fight against it. “We know that this is a practice that is entrenched in traditional myths, which can only be effectively challenged through knowledge,” said Mohamed.
