people need to stop reblogging the UAE sky scraper stuff immediately like right now those buildings are the result of slave labour of somalis, eritreans, ethiopians, pakistanis, indians, filipino, indonesian, malaysian, nepali and bangladeshi people stop glorifying their lifestyle it’s built via slave labour
Some West Africans are enslaved there as well. Freedom to migrant workers and to Hell with kfala.
It really effs me up the way Dubai has become such a travel destination among rich women who love to shop. Like, don’t people care at all about the cultures and practices they endorse?
we all know rich people don’t give a single shit about fighting class oppression so.
nothing anyone can say will ever make me less angry about the fact that the billionaires of the world could easily end world hunger and save countless lives but choose not to because they prioritise using their spare 7 billion US dollars on their 5th mansion.

me watching monsters inc as a kid: how did it take so long for anyone to figure out that human child laughter not only produced energy like screams, but was more effective, and that children aren’t actually dangerous at all?
me watching monsters inc now: monsters incorporated, a multi-billion dollar corporate giant, stood to make extra profits off a scream shortage because low supply with high demand makes it possible to charge a fortune for a necessary commodity and everyone has no choice but to pay the high prices because they can’t go without electricity. Therefore Monsters Inc, as well as any other major powers that may have existed at the start of the era of using scream energy, fabricated the idea that only screams could generate sustainable energy sources in order to create artificial scarcity, because laugh energy was far easier to obtain and far more efficient, and therefore stood to lower the value of energy due to surplus. They also fabricated the idea that human children were toxic, in order to a) make other monsters too afraid to go near them to do research and possibly discover the secret of laugh energy, and b) to make monsters so afraid of going near them that there is a shortage of scarers, making it harder for rival companies to rise up and create competition. Even in the monster world, capitalism is based on lies, greed and cruelty, and even monster companies have no qualms about using and abusing children to maximize profits.

divorcing the body from the experience of human existence is like late stage capitalism at work tbh
can you elaborate on this?
Sure, briefly at least.
Under capitalism, anything that can be monetized will be, and everything can. To do so, you often have to compartmentalize and objectify individual aspects of a whole. So a human body isn’t whole, it’s parts. Parts can be separated, valued and devalued, owned, disregarded, etc etc. A uterus can be rented, physical labor can be demanded at work, where and when you physically are is justified as determined by your employer, etc etc.
The language used online right now to say “I love hearts not parts” or “you talk about genitals therefore you only care about genitals” is capitalism’a social conditioning at work. These people can have a body, physically take up space, have material experiences with it, and still have the cognitive dissonance that your body, how you physically exist on earth, literally the only way to exist, is somehow irrelevant. We believe our bodies are not our own, not real, possessable by others, public domain, belonging to the state, outside of ourselves etc etc.
We are conditioned to believe that the every day life under capitalism, where your very schedule by minutes is determined for you by others for the end goal of a higher profit margin, is normal and justified. So it stands to reason that if you can physically be demanded on while you’re also being told that you are free and independent, that ultimately your body is not you, and that your body and physicality is irrelevant. You are your thoughts and feelings, your body is just a machine you happen to inhabit. It’s not an extension of you physical, a part of your whole including your mind and experiences, but simply a vessel. It’s why poor people can argue against universal health care, when they could fucking use it. Their money is more then than their own aging bodies.
So that it’s so easy for so many westerners, especially straight white young ones, to fall into the rape apologist rhetoric so easily is not surprising. Your body can and should be available for the public “greater good” (you must labor to manufacture goods, you must gestate to produce heirs and laborers, you must validate male feelings sexually, etc), therefore to expect autonomy sexually is seen as a “violation” instead of fucking human reality.
I can explain further if I haven’t made too much sense.
I agree. In fact, I think transgenderism is really just one manifestation of the larger transhumanist ideology of late capitalism.
Silicon Valley vampires push the idea of uploading our brains into computers, becoming immortal super beings, and all kinds of childish sci-fi fantasy scenarios, and people eat it up. People love Silicon Valley ideology because it allows them to ignore real problems. After all, why care about climate change if we can just colonize Mars? Nothing is real, nothing matters, there are no natural limits to anything because it’s all just a simulation, etc. Your body isn’t natural or real, it’s just an endlessly customize-able consumer product. You have a right chooseyour body, including its sex, just like you choose an avatar in a video game.
This is what freedom means, according to the transhumanist mindset. The ability to have endless product choices, to be endlessly fungible and hackable in every aspect of your reality. Basically, you can have whatever you want as a consumer. Just don’t ask about your rights as a citizen. Don’t worry about realizing your humanity through participation in the polis.
Meanwhile, places like Tumblr are filled with alienated teenagers who are addicted to various cult-like online belief systems which offer similar consolations. The social contagion of gender dysphoria on the internet is not so
different from the contagion of eating disorders from the pro ana
subculture, cutting from the emo subculture, self dx mental illness,
otherkin, multiple personalities, etc. All are online subcultures that
encourage vulnerable young people to become alienated from their bodies. They offer addictive escapist fantasies of beauty, knowledge, power, popularity and superiority to people who feel excluded and inferior. And they make these vulnerable peoples’ problems worse by preventing them from making peace with their real selves. They also make them easier marks for capitalists who want to sell them makeup, clothing, gadgets, drugs, surgery, etc. with the promise that these commodities will allow them to further customize themselves.
