Libfems don’t care about anybody who isn’t ‘pretty’. They care more about defending make up and high heels than women’s rights. Women are treated badly by men because we are women/female not because of the clothes we wear. Femininity is the stigmatised because is is associated with women. Women are hated and subordinated and femininity is women’s subordinated status.

This is why ‘weaponised femininity’ is bullshit it is about pleasing men despite making jokes about “eyeliner so sharp it could kill a man“ it is just another way to express internalised misogyny while pretending it is feminist.
Born females don’t perform stereotypical femininity because of their female brains, they do it because the patriarchy has sequestered their “choices” into one tiny little box of options and punishes them when they don’t choose from that box.
i am just so extraordinarily tired of the push to “reclaim” femininity. i am so tired of stopping every 5 minutes to assure women that they can “reclaim” their femininity and still be a feminist (not like us ugly unfeminine women amirite). i’m tired of ridiculous thinkpieces on how not to be like those “other feminists” and tips on how to incorporate your lipstick and love of pink into your activism…because lord only knows how totally and completely impossible it is to actually separate your personal choices and decisions from your feminist activism long enough to realize that no matter the ways you “reclaim” or “queer” your love of dresses and lipstick and pink, it’s not actually going to make femininity any less oppressive than it already is.
until my choice to exist as an unfeminine (and fat to boot) woman is equal to your choice to exist as a feminine woman who loooooves dresses and pigtails and the color pink and doesn’t want anyone to forget, i won’t be sitting on your “it’s not my revolution if i can’t wear pink” train.
i am just so fucking tired of fighting for a place in feminism that isn’t fucking saturated with femininity and all the different ways we should alter it in order to cater to women who live in some other dimension where they’re not actually allowed to be feminine at all, ever and gnc women and girls are totally over represented and respected at every turn.
“Weaponized Femininity” = patriarchy repackaged as a threat. It isn’t.

Look dude I agree that capitalism is evil and buying most make up fuels the industry that programs our culture into believing that our natural selves are not good enough. BUT AT THE SAME TIME As a feminist, I choose to support people that love to put on make up for them selves and consider it their war paint for their own personal battles and I’m not going to go about saying they aren’t as good or empowered or feminist as me. If you have the funds, buy from companies that have manifestos you can support. Or if you’re poor (like me) buy what you can afford. Yes it is important to spread the information and get our fellow feminists woke to patriarchal manipulation, but if you use feminism to shame other people (that aren’t rapists or victim blamers or actually being bad people) then you need to sit down and think about where power comes from.
Answer? Power comes from the people. En mass. Segregation based on foundation preference (lol see what I did there?) Will get us as a revolution absolutely nowhere.
It’s not shaming women to point out that makeup is a tool of oppression.
Am I wearing it right this instant? Yes, because I work an office job and would like to keep it, and makeup is a part of looking “presentable” in an office environment.
That DOESN’T mean that it’s feminist or empowering. It means that I live in a society where a woman’s worth is measured by the quality, quantity and technique of the makeup applies to her face–and furthermore, the money spent by said women on said cosmetics goes to pay the salary of wealthy white oligarchs–none of whom, I’ll point out, are female.
Women are TAUGHT to feel empowered by wearing makeup, but that “empowerment” starts in the fucking cradle for a reason. Ever play with Polly Pocket? Ever notice there’s a fucking mirror in those little clamshells? What about Barbie and her heels? Sure, she might be an astronaut neuroscientist dolphin researcher–but she’s got fifteen outfits for all of them and they all come with lipstick and high heels.
We are TAUGHT, or indoctrinated if you like, that our bodies are not good enough. We are taught that slapping red lips on is “empowering”, but if it was, the people in positions of power (ie: men) would be wearing it.
what that “weaponized femininity” is is twofold: it shows men that you are performing for their attention (cause do you put on a full face and Spanx and get your nails did to hang out with your bff? Doubt it), and that you’re compliant with femininity and thus “playing the game”.
So, you might as well tell me that protesting late-stage capitalism or unethical sourcing practices “shames” Wal-Mart workers.
Meanwhile, men take the opportunity to say vile things about women and not only do they get away with it, libfems actually applaud them!
These men call a woman “whore” “cunt” and “dog”. They tell her she’s not a feminist and to shut her mouth. MRAs attack her with articles titled “On putting Meghan Murphy to bed” which allude to all sorts of sexist and sexual connotations.
Johns are applauded for announcing they’re “ethical” clients of “sexwork” while they too slander Meghan.
Just to make sure they hit every square in sexist bingo they call her crazy, deranged, and manic.
MRAs take the opportunity to tear down feminism in general and self proclaimed “male feminists” appoint themselves as judge, jury, and executioner of feminism.
And best of all, they announce their true agenda when they decide what makes a woman. They declare a transwoman 10 times more of a woman than Meghan. They strip her of her womanhood.
And the whole time liberal feminism high fives these men. Nice feminism team!
What a sorry state of affairs.
