It’s a cop out as well as a sloppy power move that they pull out in conversations they have no stake in. women discussing exclusively women’s issues is felt as a displacement of their power. they resort to making us unstable, unreliable narrators. in the absence of any argument with a leg to stand on, that is how they can still win and look like the rational party. and they have shown over and over that they won’t hesitate to stoop low and cite our personal pain as the reason for dismissing our perspectives. even and especially in conversations about misogyny where those experiences and traumas ironically give us the Most credibility as firsthand victims of the problem.

White vegan men who draw parallels between women’s or PoC’s oppression and the exploitation of animals would like you to believe they’re just comparing people toanimals. They’re not – they don’t see themselves as animal-like, they see us – along with the animals – as less than human though and can’t understand why some groups of less-than-human creatures (women, PoC) should be treated better than other groups of less-than-human creatures (animals).
