For those of you who don’t know Bangladesh, it is a small country right beside India and Myanmar.
I am a Citizen of Bangladesh
This is a plea for help.
On 29th of July 2018, 7 school going students were killed by a reckless bus driver. The students protested with slogans on the same bus stand.
Since then All students of Bangladesh are protesting for safer roads and more strict regulations.
Their intention was never to harm even a single person. Neither it is now.
But today POLICE AND PEOPLE OF CHHATRO LEAGUE(a student council that’s controlled by the government) tortured students with tear shell, they beat students brutally and raped the female students (on 4th August 2018). The students are trying to defend themselves with sticks and tree branches that they’ve found on the streets.
Till now 4 students have been murdered and other 4 female students have been raped. 2 students lost their eye. And the Government is sitting there silent.
WE NEED YOUR HELP. PLEASE.
LET THE WORLD KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON IN BANGLADESH.
WE DON’T HAVE ACCESS TO OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALLY FACEBOOK(that’s our primary social platform) AND WE ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF INTERNATIONAL HELP. PLEASE HELP US,PLEASE SPREAD THE NEWS. WE ARE IN DANGER.
If you can’t do anything else, please signal boost this.
I will keep reblogging this until someone notices
A student being carried after being tortured
Police uniting against the students
One of the students whose eyes got clawed by Chhatro League. They had to use our flag to stop bleeding.
I can’t share all of it, we are being watched and Tumblr has its policies. Please help us as much as you can.
UPDATE:
No medical college/hospital is accepting students. They are suffering without proper medical attention. Only one medical was providing medical support, now they too have stopped. A doctor said (*this is not confirmed*) that at least 150 girls are still being held as hostages in the party office of the ruling party.
Another student who’s eye was clawed out
UPDATE:
There are some people dressed as student going in the movement and spreading rumours/false news that nothing happened/everything is normal. Govt. is saying that any news of violence is rumour. A journalist (wishes to stay anonymous) said she herself helped AT LEAST 50 students last night(4th August) who were trapped in various places, and the kids are traumatized after watching their friends get murdered by BCL. BCL is attacking anyone in a school dress/carrying a school bag. Bus drivers are a strike because “they need safety” (ironic). Anyone saying “nothing happened” is lying.
UPDATE:
very few children were in road today (5th August), mostly because they are TRAUMATIZED after watching their classmates die/getting beaten. Many university students continued the movement in their respective university area. Till now, BCL attacked students in two different areas (Uttara and Raampura) but failed to do anything because of the unity of students. They chased BCL away. Cellular data service is still unavailable. Government has not said anything about violence, they are telling people that everything that happened yesterday are nothing but rumours. They have made some changes in the law and added 5 more points but truth be told, everybody knows its just a bait, just an attempt to silence people. Nas daily shared our news today. Please bring as much attention as you can.
I forgot to add something. Someone from the government said “we will have everything under control within Sunday” on 3rd August and that’s what they did. They used their force to beat people and to have everything under control. There are new of reporters getting beaten because they were trying to take photos.

Everyone who reblogged and helped us,you are heroes. We,the people of our country love you with all our hearts for your support. You helped us reach international media.❤❤❤
now to the point. An emergency ward doctor said they treated more than 115 students last night, some of whom had injuries consisted with rubber bullets. (Source : Aljazeerah).
Varsity students rallied from Science Lab to Jigatola (the place where “incidents” happened yesterday).
See the crowd???
But they are not letting people record anything, keep any kind of proof.
I hope my voice reaches to everyone,I hope I am able to help.
UPDATE:
Students of all public universities have decided to boycott classes, and most of the private varsities have cancelled their classes. Most of the actual news aren’t even reaching to us as the cellular data service is unavailable till now. This country is going through a dark period. God help us all,may all our brothers and sisters be safe.

Thousands of young men and women homosexuals from all over the Northeast marched from Greenwich Village to the Sheep Meadow in Central Park yesterday proclaiming “the new strength and pride of the gay people.”
From Washington, Boston and Cleveland, from Ivy League colleges, from Harlem, the East Side and the suburbs, they gathered to protest laws that make homosexual acts between consenting adults illegal and social conditions that often make it impossible for them to display affection in public, maintain jobs or rent apartments.
As the group gathered in Sheridan Square before marching up the Avenue of the Americas to hold what the participants described as a “gay-in” in the Sheep Meadown, one of the organizers said a new militancy was developing among homosexuals.
“We’re probably the most harassed, persecuted minority group in history, but we’ll never have the freedom and civil rights we deserve as human beings unless we stop hiding in closets and the shelter of anonymity,” said 29-year-old Michael Brown. He is a founder of the Gay Liberation Front, an activist homosexual organization that has held small demonstrations in the Greenwich Village in the past year.
“We have to come out into the open and stop being ashamed, or else people will go on treating us as freaks. This march,” he went on, “is an affirmation and declaration of our new pride.”
Then, chanting, “Say it loud, gay is proud,” the marchers held bright red, green, purple, and yellow silk banners high in the warm afternoon air and began to move up the avenue.
At the head of the line, which extended for 15 blocks, were about 200 members of the Gay Activists Alliance. They were followed by people representing the Mattachine Society, women’s liberation groups, the Queens, and 14 other homosexual organizations.
Crowd Estimates Vary
Estimates of the size of the demonstration ranged from that one police officer, who said casually there were “over thousand,” to organizers who said variously 3,000 and 5,000 and even 20,000.
“We’ve never had a demonstration like this,” said Martin Robinson, 27, a carpenter who is in charge of political affairs for the Gay Activities Alliance. He walked with the others past crowds of people standing in silence on the sidewalks.
“It serves notice on every politician in the state and nation that homosexuals are not going to hide anymore. We’re becoming militant, and we won’t be harassed and degraded anymore,” Mr. Robinson said.
Throughout the demonstration, first along the Avenue of the Americas and later in the park, where the group sat together, laughing, talking and waving their banners, hundreds of on-lookers gathered.
Some eagerly clicked their cameras, others tittered, many were obviously startled by the scene. There was a little open animosity, and some bystanders applauded when a tall, pretty girl carrying a sign, “I am a Lesbian,” walked by.
Michael Kotis, president of the Mattachine Society, which has about 1,000 members around the country, said that “the gay people have discovered their potentioal strength and gained a new pride” since a battle on June 29, 1969; between a crowd of homosexuals and policemen who raided the Stonewall Inn, a place frequented by homosexuals at 53 Christopher Street.
“The main thing we have to understand,” he added, holding a yellow silk banner high in the air, “is that we’re different, but we’re not inferior.”
