listen to women when they say what they like or don’t. listening to a shitty article that says women like sex that they vocally oppose you are supporting rape culture and being a terrible person.
This is how rapists think and these kind of articles are a dime a dozen. The men who believe this think that women secretly want to be degraded and hurt (they know they saw it in porn) but won’t admit it. This is the implication of ‘you know you want it’. In this rape narrative she ‘needs‘ a man to ‘discover‘ that she ‘really wanted’ to do the thing that he wanted to do to her all along. That it is women’s nature to want to be hurt and degraded but there is some sort of barrier preventing her from realising this and it up to men to push her barriers to ‘help‘ her ‘discover‘ her sexuality.
The men who write these kind of articles are so invested in trying to get other men to manipulate painful and degrading sexual acts. It’s almost as if the are plotting against women.

I came across this Dutch article about the sex-slave trade of IS, but it’s worth trying to read it with google translate if you aren’t fluent in Dutch.
It talks about girls as young as seven being accepted as sex slaves. It doesn’t give a lot of new information about the treatment of their female captives, but it is the first time that I’ve seen a regular every-day newspaper talk about the role of porn in this. The article talks about how jihadists are inspired by porn and practice what they see in porn on the girls.
Many stories are not being told because the survivors are too traumatized and ashamed to tell them. Many girls don’t even survive at all.
Please, take the time to help these survivors in any way you can. Help any survivor when you get the chance. Take these harmful structures seriously.
i find it incredible that consent is always brought up in conversations about sex, like, people have to clarify that stuff is consensual and that men should ask for consent before they try and fuck a girl or whatever. Like, mutual consent should be a given, asking for consent seems kind of like the coercion you talk about. I don’t understand how consent is debated on, when its the fundamental element of any sexual relationship that isn’t rape, its the bare minimum people need in order to be good
when i say asking for consent seems like coercion, i mean that, like, when you ask someone for consent, you’re pressuring them in some way, its not mutual, there’s a power imbalance. If they wanted to, they would be letting you know through basic human communication, you shouldn’t have to approach someone and ask for consent. this whole culture of asking for consent for boys just teaches them that ‘consent’ is what you need in order to acquire sex. ‘how to be a PC predator’. No you don’t, I get what you’re talking about. Basically, this version is like “if you can get her to say the word “yes” then you can hold it against her, regardless of what you did to get her to say it” which is the message a lot of men absorb from this. They view getting consent from women as a challenge.
Consent is ongoing. You have to take into account non-verbal language too. A woman has the right to withdraw consent at anytime, and no, arousal is not consent
