Men want us to value ourselves based on their attraction to us. … Men will sexualize us and objectify us no matter what. They will do it even if we don’t want it, even if we actively try to stop it. Us embracing it is a gift to the patriarchy.

I found this ad while watching a movie…. the positioning of the boobs suggest that she’s upside down but then her head appears to have fallen off her shoulders and wedged itself between her breasts….??
I assume this is a horror game, and it’s not suitable for children because we wouldn’t want to give them nightmares.
Alternative caption is she needs head and shoulders. Or she doesn’t have a good head on her shoulders… or who needs a good head on your shoulders if you can have a good head on your boobs… or…

The latest episode of Tropes vs. Women in Video Games is live!
In “Lingerie Is Not Armor,” we explore the ways in which female characters are frequently placed in wildly impractical, sexualizing outfits specifically designed to objectify them for the titillation of the presumed straight male player. We then discuss the problems inherent in linking the sexualization of female characters to notions of female empowerment, and examine what positive depictions of female sexuality and sexual desire in games might look like.

Join the campaign #WomenNotObjects to fight against the objectification of women in advertising
Will they extend this campaign to pornography?

Notice how we have to be related to men to have humanity “someone’s sister, daughter ,mother etc” @celtyradfem
Because men don’t actually see us a individuals or fully human.
the reason we have so many absurd pornified comic book covers with women who are ridiculously disproportioned (and no one seems to notice until they’re released) is because the men who draw and approve them literally see us as disjointed and disconnected and sexualized parts rather than a whole person with a functional body? they literally don’t notice the anatomical impossibilities because our bodies are not seen as a cohesive functional whole?
This.
Princeton University psychologist Susan Fiske took brain scans of heterosexual men while they looked at sexualised images of women wearing bikinis. She found that the part of their brains that became activated was pre-motor – areas that usually light up when people anticipate using tools. The men were reacting to the images as if the women were objects they were going to act on. Particularly shocking was the discovery that the participants who scored highest on tests of hostile sexism were those most likely to deactivate the part of the brain that considers other people’s intentions (the medial prefrontal cortex) while looking at the pictures. These men were responding to images of the women as if they were non-human.

BUT SEXISM ISN’T REAL Y’ALL WE’RE JUST MAKING IT UP. THIS ISN’T
LITERAL OBJECTIFICATION.
NAH. (via

Men will still pretend that sexual objectification isn’t real or they don’t do it.
What is objectionable about pornography, then, is its abusive and degrading portrayal of females and female sexuality, not its sexual content or explicitness.
