I was wondering about the word TERF and I sometimes look at google trends to see when things become popular and then I try to work out why. And when I looked up the word terf there was this huge spike in January 2017 and I looked up some stuff and apparently it was pretty much the exact date of what looks like one of the biggest women’s marches.
I had to search them separately because the proportions work but only when TERF is scaled up a it.
This is what the graphs look like superimposed (as well as I could do) As you can see, it’s th date immediately after the women’s march peaks that TERF as a search term peaks.
I just find it interesting that over the past 14 years, the women’s march in January 2017 is what sparked such a huge upsurge in the use of the word TERF.
The word trans misogyny also had a 100% peak during those dates, but only if you look at the last 2 years.
It’s almost like Terf is used to silence women fighting for their human rights 🤔🤔🤔🤔
This reminds me of how the search results for International Men’s Day surges on International Women’s Day

Terf – a derogatory term for a woman who knows how human reproduction works, and how patriarchy does, and who refuses to shut up about either one, no matter how much it upsets males who deny these facts of life.
