From contra’s newest “The West” video, starting at 21:20: “My mind is a predator that preys upon itself. What if traps /are/ gay? What if no one could ever love you? What if happiness is impossible? What if everyone who compliments me is lying, so that they can laugh at me later when I delusionally feel good about myself? […] What if I’m standing in an awkward way that looks weird? What if Blanchard is right?”

What if traps /are/ gay?

ho·mo·sex·u·alˌ

hōməˈsekSH(o͞o)əl/

adjective

(of a person) sexually attracted to people of one’s own sex.

This question isn’t your mind preying on you, it’s reality screaming to be let in lmao

What if no one could ever love you?

This is probably a good example of a thought distortion since most people aren’t inherently unlovable, however if you’re strongly concerned about this then maybe you need to focus on developing self-awareness around the qualities you have that drive others away. Hint: many, many people will date a trans person and these qualities have nothing to do with your gender.

What if happiness is impossible?

I mean this sounds like a 12 year old’s diary entry in 2007 but if things are really that rough then you might consider seeking help my dude

What if everyone who compliments me is lying, so that they can laugh at me later when I delusionally feel good about myself?

Maybe you’re insecure because people in your community (including yourself) regularly lie (to each other, and in general) about reality. This is the problem with living in a hugbox – eventually you realize that nothing in it is genuine.

[…] What if I’m standing in an awkward way that looks weird?

Maybe you should attempt behaving in a way that comes naturally to you for once LOL

What if Blanchard is right?

[stares into the camera like he’s on The Office]

I watched it and at 3:18 he mentions “punching terfs” and how he wouldn’t do it because his hands are to “feminine”. No mention that violence against women is wrong. He still calls himself a feminist.
